When managing for whitetail deer, you have to think of cover, quality cover. When we create cover we tend to create forages. Those forages are essential to the whitetail deer’s diet. Natural forages such as browse are as important if not more important than supplemental forages. Such browse contains items as minerals and proteins to list a few. Plus, more importantly, this practice will have your deer bedding closer to your food sources, which in turn will have your deer visiting the food plots a little earlier.
*Maintain these areas every ten years or so to keep the quality and attractiveness where after.
